Er zijn twee soorten versnellingsbakolie:
- ATF (olie voor automaat): geschikt voor auto's met een automaat.
- MTF (handgeschakelde olie): geschikt voor auto's met een handbak.

Wat zijn symptomen van te weinig versnellingsbakolie?
Te weinig versnellingsbakolie merkt u eerder dan u denkt. Uw versnellingsbak geeft duidelijke signalen af als de olie op is of verouderd raakt. Herken de signalen op tijd:
- Moeilijk schakelen: de versnellingen wisselen niet soepel.
- Vreemde geluiden: u hoort een zoemend, piepend of kloppend geluid uit de versnellingsbak.
- Trilling bij het schakelen: u voelt een schok of ruk bij het wisselen van versnelling.
- Brandlucht: olie die verbrandt geeft een scherpe, chemische geur.
- Terugschakelen zonder reden: de versnellingsbak schakelt onverwacht terug.
